How to reconnect your website’s social media feed
From time to time, you may find your social media feed has disconnected itself from your website. This issue can occur when the Smash Balloon plugin is updated, your social media password is updated, or you log in to your account from a new/unknown location. When a Social media feed has disconnected, you should see the following message on your website replacing the social media feed. Don’t worry this message is only visible to admin users, so your clients/customers will not see the message.

Step 1 - Find the Disconnected Social Media Feed
To start fixing your social media feed, you will need to log in to the backend of your website. You can log in by typing /wp-admin to the end of your website’s domain address.

Once you have logged in, select the disconnected feed. This will either be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Youtube.

Step 2 - Add a New Social Media Account Source
Once the disconnect feed is selected, click on settings, then select “+ Add Source” to start reconnecting your social media feed.

This action will take you to a page asking permission to connect to your social media account. Click “Connect to Facebook (/Twitter/Instagram/Youtube)” to continue.

Step 2 - Step 3 - Log Into Your Social Media Account
Afterwards, the page will redirect you to a login page for your social media account. Log in using your account details. The page will then return you to your website.

Step 4 - Select The Account / Page
Next, select the profile/page you want to display on your website and press “Add”. Make sure to save the changes.

Step 5 - Connect Account To The Social Media Feed
Finally, select “All feeds” from the left side menu.

Then double-click your social media feed from the list. Once you have opened your social media feed, go to ‘Setting’, ‘Source’, then click ‘Change’.

Select the account you have just reconnected and click “Update”. Make sure to save the changes.

After you have completed these steps, you can go back to the front end of your site and check the social media feed has started updating to show your most recent posts.
