Can you spot an AI blog post?

We challenged our tech genius Ali to write a blog post, then put that through the completely free ChatGPT to see what AI would do. Can you tell which text is A(l)I and which one is AI? Could you spot an AI generated email or blog post in the wild?

The AI system is not only helpful to those of us who struggle with writing blog posts, but it is also a substantial tool for helping with creating engaging content, from providing topics to write about, rewriting your text sentence by sentence, and even creating an entire blog post using just a few simple sentences.

There are many different sites online that offer services at varying price points and quality, but I experimented with copy.ai and wordtune. You will find these tools useful in improving your writing technique. They can help you create product listings for your eCommerce store, blog posts for promotion, or even just help you get the wording right on the homepage of your upcoming website. There is even a section that will write a love letter on your behalf. Perhaps this is too far into the realm of depersonalization, but to each their own.

The first part of the post I posted last time was created using both the “Freestyle” and “Blog Intro” options. For the experiment, I stitched together the text of several sentences, like, “How to write a blog about AI” and “Can AI generate content worth reading”.

It is also possible to use a variety of writing styles, such as Persuasive, Relaxed, Luxury, or even Elon Musk, but I opted for Friendly. As soon as I hit the Create Copy button, several articles were written within 30 seconds from which I could choose the most suitable. The possibilities are frightening when you think about what artificial intelligence can do, but the future of content creation is an inevitability. That said, blog posts may become more and more vanilla as time moves on.

You should, however, be aware of some caveats, and one of them involves Google, the supreme overlord of all things web-related. Our Big Brothers over at Mountain View feel that AI created content is spam. They intend to punish sites that rely on AI to churn out content. And while they have not figured out how to do this yet, you can bet that they are working on it… probably using AI.

There are so many things out there that AI is creating, from the terrifying to the bizarre. In the future, I will probably continue writing about this topic, since I find it an incredibly fascinating frontier. Now I just need to upload this post to let my AI copywriting buddy make it somewhat legible for you, our dear readers.

The utilization of AI systems extends beyond aiding individuals struggling with crafting blog posts; it serves as a robust tool for generating engaging content. From suggesting topics to rephrasing text sentence by sentence, and even crafting entire blog posts with just a few input sentences, its utility is vast.

Numerous online platforms offer such services at varying price points and quality. Personally, I’ve experimented with platforms like copy.ai and wordtune, finding them invaluable for enhancing writing techniques. They facilitate the creation of compelling product listings for eCommerce ventures, promotional blog posts, or refining the wording for a website’s homepage. Some even offer services like automated love letter composition, though opinions may vary on the extent of depersonalization.

In a previous post, I combined sentences generated from options like “Freestyle” and “Blog Intro,” exploring themes such as “How to write a blog about AI” and “Can AI generate content worth reading.”

These platforms also offer a range of writing styles, from Persuasive to Relaxed or even mimicking the style of figures like Elon Musk. Opting for a Friendly tone, I found myself presented with multiple article drafts within seconds, showcasing the breadth of AI’s capabilities in content creation. The prospect of AI’s potential is awe-inspiring, albeit accompanied by concerns about the homogenization of content in the future.

Yet, there are caveats to consider, particularly in the realm of search engine optimization. Google, the authoritative force in all things web-related, views AI-generated content as spam and aims to penalize sites relying on it. While their methods remain undisclosed, it’s reasonable to assume they employ AI themselves in this endeavor.

The scope of AI’s creations ranges from the unsettling to the downright bizarre. As such, I find myself continually drawn to exploring this frontier. Now, with the assistance of my AI copywriting companion, I present this post in the hopes of making it more coherent for our dear readers.

So, which one was written with the help of AI? Was it obvious?
