Branching out with a new sustainability commitment…
We’ve been sprucing up our environmental policies (which already includes environmentally-conscious printing suppliers and 100% sustainable hosting powered by renewable energy as examples)…
So we’ve decided to partner with Trees for Life who are a leading conservation charity in Moray, Scotland who’s mission is to revitalise the wild forest in the Scottish Highlands. We’ve pledged to plant a tree for each team member, every new customer and for every website we launch. We have worked with over 600 clients and built over 500 websites so we’re hoping to make a tree-mendous impact before too long!
The trees in our grove will be carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future. They may not be cherry trees, but it will be a cherry good investment for the Caledonian forest and supporting the Dungreggan Rewilding Project.
Just some of the reasons why planting trees is great:
- Young, healthy forests can reduce the impact of wildfires by helping to suppress them
- Maintain local water sources and help to clean the air
- Creates stable habitats for endangered wildlife
- Support future natural regeneration, including that of native trees
- Stabilise the climate, and combat climate change
